Stadtreinigung Hamburg (SRH) and HiiCCE - Hamburg Institute for Innovation, Climate Protection and Circular Economy GmbH are participating in EU-funded research projects and will give you an exciting insight.
• In the BIN2BEAN project, which is funded by Horizon Europe, three pilots are being set up in Hamburg, Gleicheo (GR) and Amsterdam. In Hamburg, approaches to improving the quality of organic collection in underground systems and returning the compost to neighborhoods to increase local “urban gardening” are being tested.
• HiiCCE is lead partner of the Circular Economy Office (CEO) research project funded as part of the Interreg North Sea program. The project has set itself the ambitious goal of transforming the office furniture sector towards circularity, taking into account the requirements of the changing world of work. • As part of the MoLo Hubs research project, which is also funded by the Interreg North Sea program, the SRH and HiiCCE are working on waste collection options in mobility hubs as a supplement to collection at home and at recycling centers. The aim is to reduce individual car traffic and make the city more livable. (www.interregnorthsea.eu/molo-hubs)
