Large heat pumps on lakes and rivers are crucial for decarbonising the heating sector, but uniform regulations and technical solutions are still lacking. With an interdisciplinary approach, the BMWE research project presented here aims to close the gap, establish regulations, develop plant concepts and operating principles, and derive potential for rivers and lakes.
