Packaging, its disposal and the Dual Systems have been on everyone's lips for decades and have been the starting point for heated political debates since the separate collection of packaging was introduced in 1991 and the Yellow Bin was introduced as a citizen-oriented collection system under private responsibility. The starting point was the introduction of product responsibility and the associated obligations of those placing packaging on the market. With the further development of this basic idea, solution models for the circular economy of today and tomorrow can now also be successfully implemented. At this event, we want to look in particular at the role of high-quality collection and examine the question of how to prevent false disposal into the Yellow Bag and how to secure recyclable materials. After all, high-quality recyclates can only be produced in the required quantities if the packaging waste is also collected in high quality.
