AI and digitalisation are revolutionising textile sorting processes and helping to keep used textiles within the value chain. The aim: to reuse, repair or transform used textiles into new products. The presentation will explore prospects for the further development of digitally supported processes in the textile industry, including the role of automated sorting for reuse and for the precise detection of contaminants, in order to prevent production downtime and increase efficiency along the value chain.
The session ‘AI, Digitalisation and Container Services’ explores innovative approaches to optimising textile recycling and production processes through the use of modern technologies. Specialist presentations will demonstrate how automated sorting systems can be scaled up using artificial intelligence to process textiles more efficiently for reuse. Another focus is on the precise detection of contaminants that can impair or halt production processes – with the aim of preventing downtime at an early stage and increasing process reliability. In addition to the technical solutions, their practical applications and challenges will also be discussed.
