The five-level waste hierarchy of the Circular Economy Act (KrWG) sees reuse after avoidance as the highest level. For this reason, a project was started more than 22 years ago, which today, with Stilbruch, the Stadtreinigung Hamburg's used goods department store, is an established institution of the public waste disposal agency (örE) in Hamburg. With a break in style, sustainability, economics and social aspects are brought into harmony. As part of its tasks, the örE can ensure a large part of the flow of goods for a used goods department store. Preparing for reuse should be more than just an option for cities and towns, but rather an obligation.
