Ralf Düssel is SVP and the Head of Sustainability at the Essen-based specialty chemicals company Evonik Industries AG. In this role he drives Evonik’s business transformation towards a recognized sustainability leader in the chemical industry, making sustainable portfolio steering an integral part of Evonik’s Strategic Management Process. After his studies and his PhD in chemical engineering, he began his career at Evonik and its predecessor companies. Since then, he has held several management positions within the company. most recently as SVP of the Business Line High Performance Polymers in Marl. Since 2022 he is the Chairman of the Board of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e. V.
