Julia Braune ist seit Februar 2023 Sprecherin der Geschäftsführung von Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI). 
Von Oktober 2017 bis Januar 2023 unterstützte sie als Geschäftsführerin von German Water 
Partnership e. V. die international ausgerichtete deutsche Wasserwirtschaft bei der Erschließung 
ausländischer Märkte. Davor war sie als Geschäftsführerin in verschiedenen Beteiligungsgesellschaften 
der REMONDIS Aqua Gruppe aktiv. 
Von 2009 bis 2012 verantwortete Julia Braune als Leiterin Unternehmensentwicklung der EURAWASSER-Gruppe die strategische Geschäftsentwicklung am Standort Deutschland und entwickelte 
und steuerte unterschiedliche Projekte mit kommunalen und industriellen Kooperationspartnern. 
Von 2003 bis 2008 war sie in verschiedenen Positionen im Stoffstrom- und Projektmanagement in der 
ALBA Group, einer Unternehmensgruppe im Bereich der Kreislaufwirtschaft, tätig.
Julia Braune studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität zu Bonn. 
Sie absolvierte nach Abschluss des ersten juristischen Staatsexamens ihr Rechtsreferendariat im 
OLG-Bezirk Düsseldorf und schloss das Studium mit dem zweiten juristischen Staatsexamen ab.

Julia Braune has been the Chairwoman and CEO of the executive management board of Germany 
Trade & Invest (GTAI) since February 2023. 
From October 2017 to January 2023, she was the Managing Director of German Water Partnership, 
supporting the internationally oriented German water industry to develop foreign markets. 
Prior to taking up this position, she was active as the managing director of various companies 
associated with the REMONDIS Aqua Group. 
During the period 2009 to 2012, Julia Braune was Head of Corporate Development at the EURAWASSER 
Group, where she was responsible for strategic business development in Germany and developed and 
oversaw numerous projects with municipal and industrial cooperation partners. 
From 2003 to 2008, she held a number of material flow and project management positions at the ALBA 
Group, a collection of companies active in the circular economy. 
Julia Braune studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität Bonn (University of Bonn). 
She completed her legal internship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf and graduated with the 
second German state law examination.
