Hans-Jürgen Wedemeyer was born in Monheim, Germany, in 1963 and graduated as a Plant Technician from the Bayer AG in Leverkusen, Germany, in 1984 and as a Lab Technician in 1992.He started his career in 1985 at Bayer in Leverkusen.

Wedemeyer was working as a Lab Technician in the Plant Protection department, and there responsible for analytic pretreatment. In 1992, he changed within Bayer to the Ion Exchange Resins business unit as an Assistant Lab Manager for ion exchange resins applications. Since 2006,

Wedemeyer is working as Global Technical Marketing Manager at LANXESS. In the Liquid Purification Technologies business unit of LANXESS he is responsible for industrial water treatment applications – including make-up water, condensate polishing and ultra-pure water.

Hans-Jürgen Wedemeyer is married and has one child.
