Sebastian Ravn-Andersen is a chemical engineer and advisor at NIRAS, recognized as a leading young talent in the water industry. He specializes in advanced water and wastewater treatment, with a specific focus on integrating sustainable water solutions into the Power-to-X (PtX) sector. Sebastian has spearheaded pioneering work for the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (danish EPA), mapping water supply and process wastewater (reject water) treatment for PtX production - a first-of-its-kind study in Denmark. His expertise lies in:
- Advanced Treatment & PtX: Designing innovative models for high-purity water production and reject water management to support the green transition.
- Industrial Water Reuse: Developing processes for major global companies like Novo Nordisk and Arla to optimize water resources and foster a circular economy.
- Footprint Reduction: Setting new standards for identifying and eliminating contaminants like PFAS to reduce the environmental impact of industrial operations.
A dedicated communicator and educator, Sebastian also teaches "Chemistry in a Sustainable World" at Aarhus University, bridging the gap between technical research and real-world climate solutions.
