Despite the immense potential for climate and resource protection that could be unlocked using recycled raw materials, Green Public Procurement (GPP) remains largely neglected in Germany. Yet, GPP is already possible today – if administration and policymakers act decisively. The circular economy strategy of the state capital Stuttgart demonstrates how the potential of GPP can be utilized.
