In this session, textile researchers and industry representatives will present their approaches to further developing the circular economy in the textile sector. The presentations will explore the prospects for a circular transformation of the industry and demonstrate how innovative technologies and machinery solutions can convert used textiles into valuable raw materials. This will highlight how closely research and industrial application are intertwined in the development of scalable solutions. German textile research, in particular, plays a central role in this regard: through interdisciplinary projects, technological expertise and practical developments, it is significantly driving the transformation towards sustainable and resource-efficient circular systems.
