Prof. Dr. Peter Hartwig is a recognized expert with more than 30 years of experience in the water sector and serves as Senior Advisor Technical Development at REMONDIS Aqua (a company of the REMONDIS Group). In addition, he is a Honorary Professor of Urban Water Management, a Senator in the Senate of Economy, as well as managing director and board member of several water-related companies.
 
Throughout his career, he has led numerous national and international projects involving the planning, construction and optimization of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants worldwide.
 
A particular focus of his work is the numerical simulation of wastewater treatment processes for plant design, operational optimization and professional training. He is also actively involved in research and technology development, including deammonification, co-fermentation, and advanced treatment stages for micropollutant removal and microplastics elimination.
