The E-MetO project demonstrates the integrated operation of a power-to-gas concept at the Schönerlinde wastewater treatment plant. In addition to the operation of electrolysis and biological methanisation, the focus is on the treatment of sewage plant effluent for electrolysis and the use of electrolysis oxygen in ozone generation.

Freiburg's municipal waste collection managed the transformation of their heavy duty fleet from Diesel to hydrogen/ fuel-cell within only 6 years and is currently building a hydrogen production plant.
