Matthias Fabian leitet im Umweltbundesamt das Sachgebiet „Vollzug Verpackungsgesetz“ im Fachgebiet III 1.6 „Kunststoffe und Verpackungen“. Zu den Hauptaufgaben zählen die Rechts- und Fachaufsicht über die Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (ZSVR), Forschungsvorhaben zu Verpackungsgestaltung und -entsorgung sowie die wissenschaftsbasierte Politikberatung des Bundesministeriums für Umwelt, Klimaschutz, Naturschutz und nukleare Sicherheit.

Mr Matthias FABIAN works at the German Environment Agency and is head of subsection "Implementation of the German Packaging Act". His main tasks are the supervision of the German Packaging Register, research projects about packaging design and waste management as well as science-based policy advice for the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
