Dr. Gudrun Winkler is Head of Strategic Energy Management and Technologies at HAMBURG WASSER. She oversees the group’s overarching energy management and provides strategic guidance as her team shapes the company’s long‑term technological development. She is responsible for steering HAMBURG WASSER’s corporate micropollutant strategy, with a focus on substances of concern such as PFAS, and represents the group in national and international expert bodies.
Dr. Winkler holds an engineering degree in Water Management with a specialization in Urban Water Management, a Master by Research on micropollutants, and a PhD in Process Engineering from Cranfield University (UK). She gained international experience as a research associate before taking on professional roles within Germany’s municipal and ministerial water and environmental sectors, joining HAMBURG WASSER in 2018.
