Mr. Pal Kiss, Managing Director of Thermowatt Kft. and President of the Hungarian Heat Pump Association

Until now since 2008, Mr. Kiss serves as the Managing Director (MD) of the  Hungarian Thermowatt Kft. The company is part of  VEOLIA group since December 2023. With Thermowatt mainly developing, implementing and operating its proprietary, heat pump-based technology – co-invented by Mr. Kiss – using the heat of wastewater for heating and cooling large buildings. This technology has granted patent in 37 countries.  Prior to his appointment at Thermowatt, he worked as Development Director of the Hungarian Ministry of Environment where he supervised large projects in several sectors (wastewater, drinking water, flood protection and solid waste management). His earlier placements include MD and deputy MD positions at water and wastewater civil works companies adding up to over 20 years’ experience in the water and environmental sector and over 15 years in the energy field. Mr. Pal Kiss acts as the elected President of the Hungarian Heat Pump Association since 2018. He is active member in several working group of the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA).

Mr. Kiss has an MSc in Chemical Engineering, MSc in Economics and holds International Management diploma.
