Herr Murat Bayram

Managing Director

Murat Bayram is president of the VDM and has more than 30 years of experience in the circular economy, particularly in metal recycling. He heads the European business of European Metal Recycling (EMR) and also has extensive expertise in finance, with a master's degree. He started early with an apprenticeship in foreign trade at a Hamburg-based recycling company, where his passion for valuable raw materials began: “Scrap metal and I are like the tides here in Hamburg. They belong together.”
He is involved in numerous national and international industry organizations, including Recycling Europe, the Bureau of International Recycling, and the German Wholesale, Foreign Trade, and Services Association (BGA). As an ambassador for the metal recycling industry and fair global trade, he regularly seeks dialogue with political decision-makers.
