Dr. Ines Oehme leitet am Umweltbundesamt seit 2018 das Fachgebiet III 1.6, welches zur Produktverantwortung von Verpackungen sowie übergreifend zur Kreislaufwirtschaft von Kunststoffen arbeitet. Im Fachgebiet ist das Sachgebiet Vollzug Verpackungsgesetz angesiedelt, welches insbesondere die Rechts- und Fachaufsicht über die Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister ausübt. Das Fachgebiet kennzeichnet daher insbesondere die Umsetzung von wissenschaftlichen Ergebnissen in Politikberatung und wissenschaftsbasierten Vollzug. Zuvor hat sie am Umweltbundesamt von 2006 bis 2017 die Themen Ökodesign-Richtlinie sowie Produktlebensdauer bearbeitet. Sie studierte an der Bergakademie Freiberg Chemie und promovierte an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Vor ihrer Tätigkeit am Umweltbundesamt arbeitete sie über zehn Jahre zu Themen des produktbezogenen Umweltschutzes am Interuniversitären Forschungszentrum für Technik, Arbeit und Kultur in Graz (Österreich).

Dr. Ines Oehme is  head of section III 1.6 at the Federal Environment Agency since 2018, which focuses on producer responsibility for packaging and, more broadly, on the circular economy of plastics. The section  includes of subsection "Implementation of the German Packaging Act", which is responsible in particular for the legal and technical supervision of the Central Packaging Register. The division is therefore particularly characterized by the translation of scientific findings into policy advice and science-based enforcement. Previously, from 2006 to 2017, she worked at the Federal Environment Agency on the Ecodesign Directive and product lifespan. She studied chemistry at the Bergakademie Freiberg and earned her doctorate at the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz. Prior to her work at the Federal Environment Agency, she spent over ten years working on issues related to product-related environmental protection at the Interuniversity Research Center for Technology, Work, and Culture in Graz (Austria).
