Sessions

Fresh wood, MDF, plywood – the raw materials in your waste wood. Sensor sorting brings them circle

Mr. Andreas Jäger

Info
Virgin wood is a scarce resource and demand for clean secondary wood keeps growing. This presentation shows how magnetic and sensor-based sorting technology is used to remove contaminants such as metals, stones, and plastics. With practical examples from ferrous and non-ferrous metal separation as well as NIR and X-ray detection.

PET is PET – until regulation says it isn't. How AI sorting unlocks food-grade recycling

Mr. Andreas Jäger

Info
Same polymer, same spectrum - but only one PET item may become food packaging again. EU regulation 2022/1616 creates a category that NIR sorting cannot see. How sensor fusion and AI close that gap, with proof from the Cirrec plant: 60,000 t/year of trays turned food-grade.
