Dr. Matthias Ballweg co-founded CIRCULAR REPUBLIC at UnternehmerTUM, where he initiates projects that bring together major companies and startups to close material cycles within key value streams—including automotive, electronics, textiles, and packaging. A recognized thought leader, he has co-authored significant studies on the circular economy alongside organizations like the Club of Rome and the UN International Resource Panel. Prior to his work in sustainability, Matthias led the strategy department at MAN Truck & Bus as Vice President. He is a father of four and holds the chairmanship of the Alpenverein Oberland, one of the world’s largest sports associations.
